Casting VS forging, definition of forging

First, the definition is different:

1. Forging: Using a hammering method, the metal material in a plastic state becomes a workpiece having a certain shape and size, and changes its physical properties.
2. Casting: a method of processing a casting having a desired shape by melting a metal into a liquid, pouring it into a mold, and solidifying and cleaning after cooling. Can be made into a variety of shapes and shapes of objects.

Second, the production process is different:

1. Forging: It is a processing method that applies pressure to a metal blank by using a forging machine to plastically deform it to obtain a forging with certain mechanical properties, a certain shape and size, and one of the two major components of forging (forging and stamping). .

2. Casting: A method in which liquid metal is cast into a casting cavity that is compatible with the shape of the part, and after cooling and solidifying, to obtain a part or blank.

Third, the use is different:
1. Forging is generally used in the processing of forgings of certain shapes and sizes.
2. Casting is a relatively economical method of forming blanks, which are generally used on parts with complex shapes.
