4 Aspects of CNC Machining Accuracy

We deal with machining processing every day, and often talk about processing accuracy, but do you said it correctly? Or is it strict? Let's take a look at the accuracy!

Machining accuracy is the compliance between the actual dimensions, shape, and position of the surface of the part after machining and the ideal geometric parameters required by the drawing! The ideal geometric parameters are the average size for the size; For the shape, the absolute circle, cylinder, plane, cone, and line; absolute parallel, vertical, coaxial, for mutual position Symmetrical, etc.

1. Dimensional accuracy

The compliance between the size of the machined part and the tolerance of the part size.

2. Shape accuracy

The compliance between the actual geometry of the surface of the finished part.

3. Positional accuracy

The difference between the actual positional accuracy and the surfaces of the parts after machining.

4. The relationship

Generally, when designing machine parts and specifying the machining accuracy of parts, we should be taken to control the shape error within the position tolerance, and the shape error should be smaller than the dimensional tolerance. That is, the important surface of precision parts or parts, the shape accuracy requirements should be higher than the position accuracy requirements, and the position accuracy requirements should be higher than the dimensional accuracy requirements.
The deviation between the actual geometric parameters of the part and the ideal geometric parameters is called the machining error. The size of the machining error reflects the level of machining accuracy. The larger the error, the lower the machining accuracy, and the smaller the error, the higher the machining accuracy.
